Hidden Truth

Poetry Project #29

If you look down deep inside
You’ll see the truth you try to hide
But once you see that truth from there
You’ll begin to wish you never cared.
You’ll rub your head and begin to pull
The hair that’s there– you’ll feel like a fool.
How could you not have known that feeling?
It’s time to meditate; begin the healing.
You thought about all that you did
Then crawled into a hole and hid.
The silence quieted thoughts of the past
And darkness dimmed those visions cast.
But what about what stays with you?
That pain that drips like morning dew,
Settling back to that place deep down
Getting comfy with your lonely frown…
